It is one of the most popular and perhaps the oldest bicycle route in the Netherlands. The 8 castles route exists since 1913 and takes you 34 kilometers along the impressive, medieval castles and mansions in the area. From Hackfort Castle to Vorden Castle, the only one in the list that you can also visit inside.

Recreational lake with sandy beach
Take a dip in the beautiful recreational pond at EuroParcs De Achterhoek. Around the swimming pond you will find sandy beaches and lawns where you can roll out your towel. Not only can you swim, you can also sail in a rubber boat. You can also fish at the special fishing spots. Dogs are not allowed in the recreational lake.
