Local events
In addition to beautiful nature and charming villages, there is also plenty to do in terms of events in the Achterhoek region! Throughout the year, numerous fun activities and festivals are organised for young and old. Here you will find an overview of events in the area (if they are taking place soon).
Ruurlo: Exhibition Fong Leng & Mathilde Chic Le Freak
Until the end of June, Museum JAN and Museum MORE | Ruurlo Castle are showcasing the revolutionary creations of Dutch fashion icon Fong-Leng.
The exhibition at Ruurlo Castle focuses primarily on the roaring 1970s and Fong-Leng's relationship with “living work of art” Mathilde Willink. In addition to a selection of unique, sculptural garments, MORE also displays denim designs that Fong-Leng created for Levi's. New works by fashion photographer Ferry van der Nat also show how contemporary Fong-Leng's fashion still is.

Zwart Cross
If you're staying at EuroParcs De Achterhoek in Lochem and have managed to get tickets to the Zwarte Cross, you're in for a real treat. From the holiday park it's about a 25-kilometer drive to the festival site in Lichtenvoorde - a drive of about 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic and fun on the way.
